Two Confederate Soldiers discover a flying saucer

1864

Early morning, West Tennessee, Andrew East and Edward Lacy were both on horseback to investigate a large sound heard the previous night in camp. The entire 8th Tennessee Cavalry heard the sound and saw a bright flash. Only Andrew and Ed were sent out to see what it was.

In the middle of the field was a large crater. In the middle of the crater was a large metallic cylinder with a sphere on top, the size of a three, bedroom cabin. Andrew leaned over to Edward, "New Yankee weapon?" Edward responded "no idea" after he spit out a mouthful of tobacco juice. Andrew and Ed dismounted their horses and pulled out their Colt Navy revolvers. They had to climb down the sides of the crater.

As Andrew and Edward approached the metallic cylinder, a hole opened. Andrew and Edward cocked their hammers and entered the opening. A light came on as the two entered an empty hallway. At the end of the hallway was a room. In the middle of the room, were two seats that were occupied by two skinny white bodies with big heads. Andrew and Ed both felt a strong urge to touch the top of the heads of the lifeless bodies.

Eyes wide open, both Andrew and Edward holstered their revolvers and crept forward. Each placing their palm on the heads of the inanimate humanoid forms. They both felt a sudden shock. All the knowledge and history of the alien race was transferred into Andrew and Edward's souls. Andrew and Edward picked up the bodies and took them outside. Andrew and Edward stood looking at the bodies for a minute. Both started chanting in an alien tongue, followed by the words "Amen" in a thick Southern accent.

Edward and Andrew walked back into the ship and the portal closed behind them. They walked back up the hallway and took their seats in the pilot chairs. Communicating with the ship using their minds, The ship slowly rose from the crater. A beam of light came from the ship and the two alien bodies disappeared. The ship hovered over the campsite of the 8th Tennessee Cavalry and moved East. The ship moved quickly and silently. It stopped and hovered over a Yankee camp. A trumpet like sound came from the craft and the bodies of the Union soldiers disappeared. Leaving only uniforms and weapons.

The craft then shot straight up and into space. Edward said looking straight forward and talking with a robotic voice, "What now Andy?". Andrew replied "we continue our search of the universe", "we will find a planet with resources that we need, beautiful women, and land to produce the best tobacco and cotton".
