Robot Deities - A Short Story About An Apocalypse

Earth 2178 - University Of Love. There are only two curriculum paths. Theology and autonomous weapons. The only way to achieve total grace is to rid the earth of all sin. Mark Dawson was a double major.

Sin is not only possible in the context of the human soul. Jealousy, envy, hate, and control exists in the animal kingdom. Sin is not only the domain of man. Any life above a microscopic level needs to ended. The only way to achieve salvation is to stop all animal life on earth, only then, can the last human rest. A prize for doing the greatest work.

Mark Dawson was the only alumnist left from the University of Love. Having perfected "Flying Angels" quadcopter drones that spread a lethal virus. All life on land has been destroyed except the roaches and fish in the ocean. Mark is doing what he can to fix this, but he does not want to hurt the plankton, for the plankton live without sin.

Mark has created poisons that work on the fish. But his "Water Angels" (underwater drones) cannot yet reach the deepest sections of the ocean.

The end is near for the roaches. The poison spread over the land has only left isolated patches of roaches that are resistant to the poison. "Underground Angels" hunt the roaches, Burrowing Robots that build tunnel systems. These Underground Angels detect movement in the earthen walls. Lasers mounted on each side of the robot burn anything that moves that is not another Angel.

When a death occurs, telemetry data is sent back to satellites known as "Space Angels". This data is passed on to Mark's servers. Mark is alerted to every new death. A script automatically sends more Underground Angels and Sky Angels to the area.

Soon the mission will be complete. Mark will die in 20 years of a heart attack during an intense masturbation session. Where the only material Mark has to pleasure himself with is the video feed of a girl being eleminated by one of his Dog Angels. A four legged robot with a camera for a head and a rotating gatling mounted on its back.
